Professional teeth cleaning (scaling and polishing) removes plaque and tartar that regular brushing cannot. At Purple Rain Dental Clinic in Akure, we use this visit to check your gums, clean thoroughly, and help you prevent cavities and gum disease.
Who may need teeth cleaning
Most adults and children benefit from a professional clean at least twice a year. You may need one sooner if your gums bleed, your breath stays unpleasant, or you can feel rough deposits near the gum line.
What happens during treatment
We examine your mouth, scale away tartar, polish the tooth surfaces, and advise you on brushing and flossing at home. The visit is usually straightforward and does not require time off work.
Aftercare
Your teeth may feel smoother and slightly sensitive for a day. Continue brushing twice daily, floss, and keep your next check-up date. If sensitivity lasts, tell us at your next visit or call the clinic.
