What counts as a dental emergency
Uncontrolled pain, swelling that is spreading, a tooth knocked out, a broken tooth with sharp edges, or bleeding that will not stop after an extraction. If you have trouble breathing or swelling that closes the eye or throat, go to an emergency hospital first.
What you can do while you come in
For a knocked-out adult tooth, hold it by the crown, rinse gently if dirty, and try to place it back or keep it in milk. For pain, avoid placing aspirin on the gum. For a broken tooth, rinse with clean water and cover sharp edges if you can. Bring any fragments with you.

We relieve pain, control infection when needed, and stabilize the tooth or socket. Follow-up treatment such as a filling, root canal, extraction, or crown may be booked after the emergency visit.
